Picture 1

The Redmi K50 Pro is the flagship of the family. Its processor is the MediaTek Dimensity 9000, but don’t be fooled by the manufacturer. The benchmarks place this processor way ahead in performance and power efficiency Regarding the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, being (at least on paper), the first time that MediaTek overtakes Qualcomm in high-end.

For the first time, the Redmi K family embraces 2K. This Redmi K50 Pro has a 6.67-inch 3200 x 1440 resolution panel, offering a great density of 526 ppi. In turn, it is compatible with Dolby Vision, something not very usual in high-end. Definitely, Xiaomi has given the K50 Pro a panel of the highest range. The most positive point? It is a panel without curves.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 is a beast in benchmark. It surpasses the Snapdragon 8 gen 1 and is dangerously close to the Apple A15 in power (although not in efficiency)

The processor is so ambitious that Xiaomi has dared to compare it with the A15 Bionic from Apple, which is quite close At the level of gross power, an achievement of the Chinese manufacturer MediaTek. The internal memory is up to 512 GB, accompanied by 12 GB of RAM.

At the battery level, it has 5,000mAh and 120W fast charge, the best figures seen in a Xiaomi, even above the Xiaomi Mi 12 Pro, which has 4,600mAh and 120W. It promises to charge from 0 to 100 in 19 minutes, just two minutes more than its brother the 12 Pro.

Good cameras and MIUI 13

Spec Color

On a photographic level, bet on a main sensor of 108 megapixels. It is accompanied by an 8 megapixel ultra wide angle sensor and a 2 megapixel macro sensor, a configuration similar to that of the POCO F3, although with a higher resolution main sensor and without “telemacro”, as in the previous generation.

The operating system is MIUI 13, accompanied by Android 12. Excellent news both at the photographic level and at the processor and connectivity level, since it is a mobile with 5G, NFC and Bluetooth in its version 5.3.

The Redmi K50 bets on the MediaTek Dimension 8100. Another processor that can be deceived by the name, but that has given a higher score than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. It also bets on 2K resolution and the 6.67 inches, great news in case it ends up arriving as POCO F4 in Spain.

We haven’t seen such a battery in Xiaomi’s high-end for years. 5,500mAh with 67W fast charge for the Redmi K50

The battery is simply huge, the highest seen in Xiaomi’s high-end since the Mi Max 3. We have 5,500mAh, 500 mAh more than the Redmi K50 Pro and almost 1,000 mAh than many of its direct rivals. The fast charge in this case is 67W, more than worthy despite the enormous capacity of the battery.

In this case the main camera drops to 48 megapixels, they are accompanied by an ultra wide angle of still unknown resolution and a two megapixel macro sensor. The camera in this model does not seem to be a priority, and it is the point that most differentiates it from the Pro.

Versions and price of the Xiaomi Redmi K50 Pro and K50

The price of the Redmi K50 starts at 341.84 euros at the exchange rate, while the Pro version goes up to 427 euros. They are prices for Chinese market, which will increase in the event that these devices arrive in Spain. This is the full photo with all the versions.
