Warner delays all its DC hero releases

It may be that recent successes such as ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ or ‘The Batman’ have made one think for a moment that the situation was returning to normal after two years in which the cinematographic panorama has been turned upside down for, possibly and streaming by never going back. But we have not yet taken all the necessary steps to return to a normalized situationand Warner has shown it by delaying a good number of releases.

'The Batman' marks the path of movie theaters: you will have to pay more to see the most popular movies

The reason that Warner wields is that the COVID has not yet finished kicking its tail, and they are releases that are too important for the company not to risk in that regard. It must be borne in mind that it is not only that the situation in theaters has not returned to normal, but that the post-production (or directly, shooting) of these films may have been more affected by the pandemic than expected.

the new dates

In any case, this is the Warner schedule.

  • ‘DC League of Super Pets’: July 29, 2022 (before: May 20)
  • ‘Black Adam’: October 21, 2022 (before: July 29)
  • ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’: December 16, 2022 (before: June 2, 2023)
  • ‘Aquaman 2’: March 17, 2023 (before: December 16, 2022)
  • ‘The Flash’: June 23, 2023 (before: November 4, 2022)
  • ‘Meg 2: The Trench’: August 4, 2023 (this date did not yet have an announced date)
  • ‘wonka’: December 15, 2023 (before: March 17)

As you can see, not all of them are superheroes, since ‘Meg 2’, the sequel to the success of mutant sharks with Jason Statham, and the remake of ‘Willy Wonka’ are also on the calendar. On the other hand, we will see howand advances the sequel to ‘Shazam!’ to this year, exchanging places with ‘Black Adam’. Perhaps they are not as linked to each other as one might think given the origin of their protagonists?
