The creator of ‘Sandman’ is on everyone’s lips for the adaptation that Netflix has made of his best-known work. If you’ve been carried away by its mixture of magic, horror and mythology (and that was already anticipated in ‘Lucifer’, which you can also see on Netflix, and which was originally a spin-off of ‘Sandman’), you’ll surely enjoy with these other series based on his work or directly written by him. One of the first hits on the Prime Video streaming table was this lavish and eye-catching mythological epic inspired by one of Neil Gaiman’s best-known novels. The series has its own personality, but broadly speaking it follows a plot line that will undoubtedly appeal to those who have been enchanted by the multiplicity of deities reinterpreted in ‘Sandman’: here, gods and creatures from traditional mythologies face new icons created by modern societies.

Gaiman’s best adaptation to date is this delightful one that adapts the novel he wrote with four hands with the much-teared-up Terry Pratchett. A hilarious story in which heaven and hell make a temporary pact to save the world from the Apocalypse, and that shines not only for its impeccable comic timing, but also for the hilarious performances of Michael Sheen and David Tennant as an allied devil and angel for necessity.

Netflix releases a bonus episode of 'Sandman'. It's another proof that he wants to distance himself from binge-watching.

Neil Gaiman has scripted several episodes of ‘Doctor Who’ throughout the recent history of the series, but this is the most remembered, the fourth of the sixth season, when Matt Smith gave life to the Doctor. Gaiman made history by making it canon that the Doctor could regenerate with another gender (meaning that the Doctor is not necessarily a man or a woman) and, incidentally, writing the best tribute to the Doctor’s best companion, the one who has been with him since his first adventure: the TARDIS.
