The Hummer H1 is a big car. No half measures or palliatives. At 4.7 meters long, 2.1 meters wide and almost 2 meters tall, the vehicle lives up to its origins as a military off-roader. Its size falls short, however, when compared to the adaptation that the Emirati millionaire has bought Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyanalso known as “Rainbow Sheikh”.

A lover of vehicles —especially the XXL ones— the tycoon has decided to get his own version of Hummer, a functional one, but in which you could stay to live. You and your family.

The baptized as Hummer H1 X3 take your breath away with its technical sheet, before even taking a look at it. It is around 14 meters long and 6.1 wide and has a height of almost 6.6.

A double-decker car with stairs

It is so big that its owner has decided divide it into two “floors”, still unfinished. In the first you can find a sink and toilet and in the second a private area designed for visitors. To make travel – or life directly – on board more comfortable, it also has stairs: some outside that allow you to reach the height of the door and others inside.

And in case you were wondering; yes, the vehicle works perfectly. The 4 Auto Museums, UAE & Morocco He has shared a video in which we can see him on the road.

Of course, the Hummer H1 X3 is more designed for you to take a good nap in it while someone else drives or invite your friends to travel long distances. Equipped with four diesel engines, it reaches a maximum speed of about 32km/h. At least for now, if you want to see it up close, yes, you will have to go to the Al Madam museum, in the United Arab Emirates.

TC-497 Mark II, the "road train" 170-meter-long bridge that the US built more than half a century ago for remote regions

To give shape to such a monster of the road, its creators have used part of a LARC-LX amphibious cargo vehicle of the United States Army, a machine designed last century by RG LeTourneau, also the father of land trains such as the VC-12 Tournatrain.

Probably in your garage or mine – if it even fits – the Hummer H1 X3 would be a bit out of tune; but it will not be so in the “Rainbow Sheikh” collection, which has an extensive collection with more than 700 4×4 vehicles. Among the “jewels” of the United Arab Emirates museum there are also classic cars that are no longer in circulation, military cars, vans and, of course, 4x4s.
