Netflix’s new post-apocalyptic bet is titled ‘Black Crab’ and its first trailer is spectacular

From Sweden comes a post-apocalyptic thriller by surprise that shows that although Netflix has revealed a good part of its cards for 2022, it still has much more in the pipeline. In fact, the first trailer for ‘Black Crab’, which will arrive on March 18, is refreshing (and never better said)since it does not resemble anything that was shown in the first advance of the year, where proposals abounded under the same pattern.

Noomi Rapace will play here a former figure skater, currently a soldier in a conflict that has reduced the world to constant war. The freezing of the sea that surrounds an archipelago of great tactical importance allows the army to approach the area with the hope of carrying out the transport of a package that could end the conflict. In addition, our protagonist has personal interests in carrying out the mission: to reunite with her daughter.

icy apocalypse

The most special thing about this proposal, apparently, is the realism of the end of the world that it presents. Not a zombie apocalypse, not the Moon crashing into Earth: it is the very violence generated by our species, possibly by some forgotten conflict decades before, leading to a situation of absolute crisis. Related to that proposal, ‘Black Crab’ proposes a good number of sequences of shootings and war clashes that stand out for their rawness and realism.

Netflix advances some of its films for 2022 with the promise of a premiere a week throughout the year

The screenplay is based on a 2002 book by Jerker Virdborg about a group of soldiers who mindlessly obey the directives of a mission whose objective they do not know, and it is the first film directed by Adam Berg. Without a doubt, and in the absence of revealing more secrets about its plot, it is great proof that Netflix Proposals that differ from his aesthetic and visual constants suit him wonderfully.
