‘Lost Ark’ will not increase servers in Central Europe despite saturation

Although the launch of ‘Lost Ark’ in the West has been a complete success, the MMORPG from Smilegate and Tripod Studio has not been without controversy and criticism. And it is that accessing the game supposes face huge queues of players wanting to walk around Arkesia, queues that in some cases reach 12,000 people.

This problem is particularly pressing in Europe, to the point that last week a new server region had to be activated (Western Europe) to accommodate new players. The tails, however, are still present and since ‘Lost Ark’ They have saidbasically that Little more can be done.

Neither more servers nor more capacity

As the developers have posted on the game’s official forums, “The Central European region is at its limit and unfortunately, there is no way to increase the number of players per world in Central Europe“. They also ensure that adding more servers “is not possible due to the complexity of all the systems that must work together.”

In a nutshell, the current servers are what they are and have the capacity they have and it is not possible to add more. Central Europe is saturated (it was the first European region and where players congregated at the game’s launch) and the only option left is to opt for a server in Western Europe.

This is a problem for those players with friends on different servers and even more so if they play in different regions. Those players in the same region, but on different servers they can do dungeons and raids togetherbut not be friends in the game, belong to the same guildplay in the open world, do PvP and other content.

Thus, there would only be the option of become another character on another server, thus losing all progress. Another idea would be a server transfer system, something that the gaming community has asked for and something that is “not a viable option at this time for the western version”, according to the developers.

This system has just been implemented in Korea and is a weekly batch process that requires maintenance to work, not to mention that it doesn’t support switching servers between regions. According to ‘Lost Ark’, not currently a viable optionalthough the developers state that “we will not rest until we have exhausted all options”.

And it is that creating a character on another server would not be bad if you could use the power pass (which allows to raise the character to level 50 from the beginning), but it is not possible. “A Power Pass can only be implemented on a roster that already has a level 50 character, and will not work on the first character on the roster, even if you have previously done so on another region or server,” the developers confirm.

So, and seen what was seen, will have to wait until the initial fever for the game cools down and the servers are no longer overwhelmed. Until then, you’ll have to queue.
