The new OPPO Find X5 Pro is now official. We already know the latest OPPO flagship, ready to face the rest of the high-end mobiles to see who wins the throne for the best mobile of the year. As usual after this type of presentation, here we leave you with a comparison of technical characteristics to see how the battle is.
This is how the new one looks OPPO Find X5 Pro against the best phones of 2022. A review that will help us get a rough idea of what OPPO’s flagship offers against the rest of the top phones from the main manufacturers.
We have pitted the OPPO Find X5 Pro against the following smartphones:
The battle in design, screen and battery is red hot
OPPO bets on a design with curved lines and a ceramic back. As we have seen in most high ranges, it offers resistance to splashes of water and dust with IP68 certification. The screen is protected with Gorilla Glass Victus, an addition that the new Xiaomi or Samsung also add.

The OPPO Find X5 Pro also continues a trend that we are seeing in 2022 compared to previous years; we refer to the integration of the rear cameras in the body of the device, leaving out a camera module with a different design. In the case of the OnePlus 10 Pro, which does have many similarities to the OPPO Find X5 Pro, a separate module is chosen.
The screen is a central element in a mobile and here OPPO opts for a panel of 6.7 inches with curved WQHD + resolution with AMOLED technology. OPPO is in the front line of battle with this panel, at the level of those seen in models such as the Galaxy S22 Ultra or the Xiaomi 12 Pro, which also incorporate a 120 Hz refresh rate.
OPPO stands out for its 80W fast charge together with a generous 5,000 mAh battery, accompanied by a first-rate AMOLED screen and a more compact body than its rivals.
OPPO explains that its AMOLED panel is 10-bit with 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and that it offers an adaptive refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz, while the standard Find X5 does so from 10 to 120 Hz. In this sense, the flagships of 2022 have taken a step forward and there is no manufacturer that goes further.

As for the battery, the OPPO Find X5 Pro adds 5,000 mAh, which seems to be the top this year for flagships. The difference between one and the other is marked by fast charging. With the exception of the Xiaomi 12 Pro, which adds faster charging but fewer milliamp-hours, the OPPO X5 Pro is the one that, on paper, has the best combination of battery and fast chargeat the same level as the OnePlus 10 Pro and its 80W with which it shares the parent factory.

OPPO trusts the latest from Qualcomm
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is OPPO’s chosen processor for its flagship. It is the same chipset manufactured in 4 nanometers that brands such as Xiaomi, Realme or OnePlus are betting on and that we will foreseeably see throughout the year in new terminals. Unlike Samsung, Apple, Google or Huawei, OPPO relies on Qualcomm for the heart of its most advanced mobile.

Along with this we have 12 GB of RAM, without a version with 8 GB in its Pro model. Storage also starts at 256 GB. Here OPPO has decided that the Pro model starts from a higher point, with the version of 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
The OPPO Find X5 Pro incorporates its own chipset for the camera, instead of for security like Samsung or the battery like Xiaomi.
To try to improve performance, OPPO incorporates vapor chamber cooling. But if there is an addition that begins to differentiate these mobiles, it is the added chipsets. It is true that OPPO trusts Qualcomm for the CPU, but it has not missed the opportunity to present its new MariSilicon X, a 6 nanometer chipset to power your dedicated NPU and improve the photographic section.
In mobiles like the Galaxy S22 Ultra with its Knox chipset or the Xiaomi 12 Pro with its Surge P1, we have already seen this year that manufacturers are incorporating additional processors for specific tasks. And here we do see that each brand opts for a very different strategy.

At the connectivity level, the OPPO Find X5 Pro adds what we can expect, from 5G to Bluetooth 5.2. Nevertheless, they do not specify that it is compatible with the new WiFi 6E standard, as the S22 Ultra adds. For the operating system, OPPO adds its ColorOS 12.1 customization layer based on Google’s Android 12.
Triple camera with two large sensors

OPPO has completely renewed its photographic section in this Find X5 Pro. From the hand of Hasselblad and the NPU MariSilicon X, OPPO’s camera offers technical specifications that take you to the front line of battle. This is a sensitive section, because on many occasions the numbers do not always correctly reflect the final result.
The Find X5 Pro has 5-axis stabilization on the main camera. We have a 50-megapixel sensor with an f/1.7 lens and a 50-megapixel wide angle lens, with a wide angle of 110 degrees. OPPO focuses on your main lens and the wide angleunlike manufacturers like Samsung or Google that do incorporate a dedicated telephoto lens with higher resolution.
The OPPO Find X5 Pro adds two large 50-megapixel sensors in its main and wide-angle camera, with a smaller telephoto than its rivals.
The strategy is similar to that of the Xiaomi 12 Pro, with the difference that the main lens offers a larger aperture in the OPPO, while the telephoto sensor is larger in the Xiaomi.
For the front camera, the OPPO Find X5 Pro comes with a 32 MP sensor that also benefits from the dedicated NPU. Like the Realme GT2 Pro or the OnePlus 10 Pro, the 32 megapixels are the size limit on the front. A very different bet from brands like Google, Apple or Samsung.

Price

The price of 1,299 euros for the new OPPO Find X5 Pro will include an OPPO Watch Free, a 45W AirVOOC wireless charger, a protective case and OPPO Enco X headphones with the pre-purchase period. These are promotions that contribute to decanting the balance of value . But there is one aspect that is even more relevant when comparing the price between flagships: the amount of memory and storage.
Unlike the competition, OPPO scales to 256 GB as base storage. Its price is higher than the 128 GB Galaxy S22 Ultra, but less than the 1,359 euros that the latter costs in the same configuration. We are facing a flagship with a high price, but whose characteristics make it one of the best mobiles on the market. As always, it is up to customers to choose which is the best option.
