Google Maps is beginning to deploy one of its most relevant updates. In it, comes for the first time information on the price of tolls, making the total calculation of the amount to pay in a trip that includes one or more. With tolls about to land in Spain next year, the novelty is stronger than ever.

Along with this novelty, the app renew your navigation guides with more information, also arriving important news for iPhone owners, such as integration of navigation within iOS widgets and integration with Apple Watch.

Maps will tell you the price of tolls

Google Maps showed whether or not a highway was a toll road, but not the related information about its rates. Starting this month, toll prices will begin to appear in the app, although first in the United States, India, Japan and Indonesia. Google confirms that “soon” will arrive in other countries.

When we create a trip, we will be able to see the final price of the journey, making the sum of the tolls that we have to pay along it. The exact point of each toll will be marked on the map, as well as its price.

New features are also coming to the navigation guides. Maps will start to show traffic lights and stop signsboth on iOS and Android. In the same way, drinking from Apple Maps, it will begin to show the outline of buildings, areas of interest, etc.

As usual in Maps, the novelties are unfolded progressively, so in the coming weeks we should start enjoying all of them. The only one that will take a little longer to land in Spain will be the tolls.
